The HexLab Ethical Hacking Manifesto

Powerful tools deserve principled operators. Here is the code we ask every HexLab customer to sign up to.

01Six principles

  1. Consent first. If it is not yours, get written permission.
  2. Do no harm. Reversible tests only. Never disrupt services people depend on.
  3. Report responsibly. Coordinate with vendors before public disclosure.
  4. Educate freely. Publish your methods so defenders learn.
  5. Respect privacy. Never capture data that is not required for the finding.
  6. Know the law. Local statutes vary; check before you experiment.

02Why publish this?

The tools we sell are neutral. The people who use them are not. A manifesto keeps the community pointed at defence, not damage.
