ESP32 Marauder Wireless Security Tool Documentation

What you need
Before setting up your ESP32 Marauder, gather the following items:
- ESP32 Marauder hardware device
- MicroSD card (up to 32 GB, formatted to FAT32)
- USB-C cable for charging and PC interface
- 5V USB power outlet or PC USB port

Step 1 — Unbox
Unpack the unit and inspect the hardware. Your ESP32 Marauder is powered by an ESP32 microcontroller and features a integrated 2.4-inch 320x240 color touchscreen, an internal 1200 mAh lithium battery, a microSD slot, and a USB-C connection port.

Step 2 — Power on
Connect the device to a 5V power supply using a USB-C cable to charge the 1200 mAh battery. Locate the hardware power switch on the edge of the unit and toggle it to the on position. The touchscreen will display the Marauder splash logo and boot into the main menu.

Step 3 — Connect
Insert a FAT32-formatted microSD card into the slot until it clicks. If you plan to analyze PCAP captures or manage firmware over serial, plug the device into a PC using the USB-C cable. For portable RF analysis, the device operates fully standalone on battery power.

Step 4 — First run
Navigate the touch interface to start testing surrounding signals:
- Tap WiFi from the top-level menu.
- Select SCAN and then AP Scan to discover nearby access points.
- Return to the main menu and select BLE to run discovery for Bluetooth Low Energy peripherals.
- Log data and packet captures to your microSD card for post-analysis.

Tips
- Always format microSD cards to FAT32; NTFS or exFAT configurations will not read correctly.
- Keep the open-source firmware updated using Web Flasher utilities or serial command line tools.
- Ensure tests are performed strictly within authorization limits and legal research guidelines.

Troubleshooting
